Welcome to the Saurashtra Research Group
This Saurashtra Research Group has been formed to make a detailed study of the History of Saurashtra people presently living mostly in South India and other parts of India.
Though many of our people have written about Saurashtra History, most of them lack authenticity due to lack of proof and documentation as per academic standards. It is not an easy task by any means, to compile a detailed History which is running back to a thousand years. But, now due to advanced technology, it is possible to get enormous amount of information regarding our history from many interested individuals. Of course the amount of information that will be coming in will run into thousands of pages. These information have to be scanned for authenticity and edited to suit the final outcome.
An invitation had been posted in the Social media inviting participants who can contribute information for compiling our History.
Ms.Ananthalakshmi Ramesh who has written many books will be the anchor person for this group. Chennai Saurashtra Sabha has assured all the support for this project. The project has been initially planned for one year and may extend for two more years.
Many of our Saurashtra people have willingly become participants in this group. "Sourashtra Madhya Sabha and "Chennai Saurashtra Sabha - FaceBook" will be the social platform for exchanging information and ideas. Participants are requested to send in new information that has not been published already. Proof and documentation attached for such information will be appreciated. All information received will be posted in this site with due credit to the sender. All such information will be scrutinized for credibility and authenticity and then only added to the final output.
